The secondary data was collected from related literatures.
In addition, as a rich source of secondary data, the test results of the Entrance and Final tests of the GBE English center in Hanoi were collated to examine how Role Play helped to enhance the oral performance of 128 students aged 6 and 7. The Role Play was evaluated based on four key criteria: Pronunciation, Vocabulary & Structures, Fluency, and Interaction. The findings show that Role Play brings about positive impacts on learners’ communicative competence. Specifically, it does not only helps learners to master English speech but also enhances their behavior in specific life contexts due to previous experience in classroom settings.
In depth, it is noted that substantial gains of interpersonal communication were manifested in the Entrance pre-test results and Role Play post-test results in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary & structure, fluency, and interaction. There is no doubt that a pleasant learning atmosphere by acting out the hypothetical situation might reduce anxiety in English talking and increase self- confidence among learners. As a result, students were able to articulate themselves and learn from one another with regard to speaking capabilities such as pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and interaction. Students' motivation and enthusiasm in learning how to use English can be boosted by engaging them in these dynamic, engaging, immersive, and meaningful learning activities.

Besides, this first chapter will utter the primary information including objectives, research questions, significance, scope, and limitation of the study on Role Play issue. Background of the study In today's globalized flow, English is spoken as a global language from all over the world.
Like those who are from non-native-speaking countries, Vietnamese learners of English lack needs and environments to practice speaking naturally and authentically. The infrequently practiced daily causes the obstacle for students to unfold their opinions in the target language due to the deep effects of local Vietnamese speaking habitant. Consequently, they do not feel at ease when being asked to make a speech. It is believed that the crucial key is arousing the studying curiosity and fervor instead of pressuring students to immediately comprehending the academic rigid theories.
One of the lights has been shed by the Role Play which can be used for resolving this concern as an optimal means of helping restore confidence. It is imperative for children to comprehend the scenario in an English-speaking class to interact successfully beyond the classroom implying a promising device that allows students to acquire an idea of multiple situations through numerous real-life experiences. Role Play is distinguished from the others because of its holistic practicality, allowing players who are learners to act in different roles and positions. Thus, Role Play has revealed the great combination between standard theories and practical experience for learners to experience reality in the class size with the use of learned and prompted vocabulary, structure, results in the interactive communication' enhancement of many individuals.
Aiming to clarify the impacts of Role Play on improving the English communicative ability among learners, the study covers the topic “THE EFFECTS 10 OF ROLE PLAY ON IMPROVING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF EFL LEARNERS” was carried out in order to examine in detail the influences of this technique based on 4 criteria: Pronunciation, Vocabulary & Structure, Fluency, and Interaction. Research Objectives and Research Questions This secondary research used secondary data to examine the effects of Role Play on improving English communicative competence among learners based on four criteria: Pronunciation, Structures & Vocabularies, Fluency, and Interaction. The research question is as below: What are the effects of Role Play in EFL/ ESL learners’communicative competence based on the criteria of Pronunciation, Vocabulary & Structure, Interaction, and Fluency. Significance of the study The research findings indicate the potential of Role Play in enhancing communicative competence among EFL/ ESL learners.
Therefore, it is critical to gain a more understanding of this method in EFL/ ESL learners in Vietnam. The study would bring more ideas about how Role Play was implemented and created impacts on students in class settings and how their communicative competence including the elements of Pronunciation, Structures & Vocabulary, Interaction, and Fluency. From then, therelevant recommendations would be offered. Scope and limitation of the study As this is the secondary research, I analyzed and synthesized previous and relevant studies with relevant methods and results to examine the effects of Role Play on EFL/ ESL learners at different age groups.
In addition, I collected secondary data at the Global English Center in which Role Play has been implemented to boost the communicative competence of learners aged 6-7. The data are the test results of the Entrance term and Final oral exams of a total of 128 students over the span of six continuous courses.
