Because each program requires plenty of people standing at the backstage, support for the sparkling on- stage acitivities. or too many people gathering do such a simple work like packing up gifts for the guests at each event, or printing too much scripts while they are not the final ones, that consumes plenty of white paper while there are a lot of children out there don’t have paper to write. But I believe that the current situation can be changed because now we have Lean management that can apply to any sector and working condition. Applying lean thinking and principles in improving television production can gain many successful. The adoption and application of appropriate lean principles and tools help gaining efficiency and effectiveness in many aspects such as operating process, sastisfaction of viewer, resource administration and support. The deductive approach, the qualitative research method, and semi — structured interviews, survey methodology were employed to conduct this research. Besides all the results derived from conventional lean principle, this thesis also contribute several solutions to the studied primary school based on “Made in Vietnam” lean management of author Nguyen Dang Minh.Define the significance of research Lean management has gained many successful results around the world. The adoption and application of appropriate lean principles and tools in television production help gaining efficiency and effectiveness in many aspects such as operating process, sastisfaction of viewer, resource administration and support. The goal ofthis study is investigating the application of lean principles in the television producing in Education Channel VTV7 in order to find out different types of wastes, the causes of those wastes and then building a lean management model as suggestions for VTV7 to improve its current operation and quality. The deductive approach, the qualitative research method, and semi - structured interviews were employed to conduct this research. Besides all the results derived from conventional lean principle, this thesis also contribute several solutions to the studied primary school based on “Made in Vietnam” lean management of author Nguyen Dang Minh. Aims of the research This study is carried out with the aim to contribute to the understanding of how lean principles can be applied to television production. With the thesis title “Application of “Made in Vietnam” lean management on VTV7 television production”, the author hope to find out the “Made in Vietnam” application of lean management in Education Channel VTV7 and the way to improve quality services and cut down wastes based on applying “Made in Vietnam” Lean management. This study is conducted to answer 2 questions: ¢ Research question 1: How is Lean management applied in Education Channel VIT'V7? What are the wastes and problems in the operation production in VTV72 ° Research question 2: How can Lean principles minimize those wastes and handle problems? 1. Objectives This research focuses on finding out what are the causes of waste in VTV7, and what should be done to fix it. Base on Lean Management of Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh, and the analysis of the data collected through interviews. Research Scope My final thesis is the result of over one-year-working in Education Channel VTV7 as a collaborator. Referring to the main research questions, this study is more descriptive of the current practices of lean principles in television production. Therefore, this research used qualitative approach with direct observation and semi- structured interview method. The data was collected from both primary and secondary resources. All primary data are provided by and gathered directly through direct interview that was asked to the producers, the board of directors and the collaborators. Secondary data, such as theoretical frameworks and literature. was obtained from reference books, scientific books. scientific articles and peer reviewed journals. The analysis will be conducted base on the collected data and then those data can be displayed and visualized as results. Eventually from the analysis of the collected data, conclusions for the application of lean management in Education Channel VTV7 and the wastes and problems in television production’s operation and management, recommendations of Lean solutions were made. Contributions This study contributes to both the theoretical and practical dimensions of applying lean principles to television production operating activities. The study is important to review and understand the interpretation of lean principles in television industry. Through the issues studied in this paper, practitioners and researchers may have a background of how to apply lean principles to television production. Findings from this study will significantly provide several positive contributions which desires to catch up with the need and demand for television production in the recent society and also improve itself to look ahead for the future. Structure Apart from the content of table, lists of figures and tables, acknowledgements, abstract, and the introduction, this research work is structured into 4 different chapters. Chapter I: Literature review Fundamental concepts of Lean management, Lean “Made in Viet Nam” management and background of television production. Chapter II: Research Methodology in Education Channel VTV7 Information about research method, data collection and data analysis. It points out clearly where the study is conducted, what the research methodology was used, how date is collected and what approach is applied for analyzing the data. Chapter III: Research results and analysis of Education Channel VTV7 The result of investigating information in Educational Channel VTV7. this result collected will be carried out to analyze with the aim of finding out recent situation, problems and reasons. Chapter IV: Findings and discussions in case of Education Channel VTV7 Description of data collected. Basing on this result, the author will give some recommendation or approach to solve the problems. It also brings out the limitation in the research. CHAPTER 1 LITERATURE REVIEW 1. The origin and development of lean Nowadays, wastes is known as something that you have to avoid especially in working. People have known about the definition of lean and many of the concepts now seen as key to lean have been discovered and rediscovered over the years by others in their search to reduce wastes. Lean manufacturing builds on their experiences, including learning from their mistakes.
