Rationale With the advent of the digital age, technology has made life much easier, more efficient, and less labour-intensive for humans.
Being one of the leading providers of technology goods, Bosch has always put a high value on the quality of its products. Quality is regarded as a critical factor in determining whether consumers will opt to use the product. Meeting quality standards and maintaining competitiveness are the fundamental objectives of every business. Customer satisfaction, cost, company image, compliance with regulations and standards, and numerous other values are significantly influenced by quality management, which commences at the outset of the production process and continues until the product is finished.
Bosch has maintained its position by consistently enhancing and increasing the quality of its products with meticulous effort. The Quality team's meticulous attention to detail in each production phase and the investment in machinery, testing areas, and quality and safety indicators are all indicative of Bosch's commitment to quality management. Nevertheless, it is impossible to ensure that the quality of the product is 100% accurate, despite the advancement of technology at the factory and the implementation of automated production lines. Errors and defects are inevitable during the production process.
When this occurs, it is necessary to coordinate with the appropriate departments in order to identify the underlying cause and work toward a solution. C onsequently, a variety of problem-solving techniques, including 8D, PSS, and Shainin, are implemented to mitigate errors and ensure the uninterrupted production process. Bosch effectively and efficiently implements these methodologies in a variety of scenarios. Shainin is one of the methods that is particularly effective in systematically identifying defects and determining the fundamental cause of issues.
Shainin is a method that is less frequently selected by businesses due to its complexity and the requirement of strong logical knowledge. At Bosch, it is employed in special, critical cases. The author selected the topic "Applying the Shainin Method — Enhancing Quality control effectiveness in the Loop Line at HeP Factory of Bosch VietNam Co., LTD” to Improve Product Quality of Loop at Bosch Vietnam — Project to Reduce Scrap Rate “Part NOK Tongues/Protuberance" based on a real case study at Bosch, driven by the desire to explore and the unique nature of the Shainin method. Throughout this investigation, the author will evaluate the method's advantages and disadvantages, as well as Bosch's current quality management system, and analyse the application, implementation process, related knowledge, and attained results.
Subsequently, the author will propose strategies to enhance production efficiency and quality, mitigate the risk of blunders at the factory, and reduce defects. Objectives - Analyse the root causes of product defects on the Loopset production line at HcP Factory, Bosch Vietnam Co. - Understand the Shainin Method for Problem Solving. - Using the Shainin method is an effective way to identify the underlying causes of product defects and address them systematically in order to prevent future incidents.
