I. Tổng Quan Về Những Sai Lầm Khi Học Từ Vựng Của Sinh Viên Năm Nhất

Học từ vựng là một phần quan trọng trong quá trình học ngoại ngữ, đặc biệt là đối với sinh viên năm nhất tại Trường Đại Học Quản Lý Và Công Nghệ Hải Phòng. Tuy nhiên, nhiều sinh viên thường mắc phải những sai lầm phổ biến trong việc học từ vựng, dẫn đến việc không thể áp dụng từ vựng vào thực tế. Việc nhận diện và khắc phục những sai lầm này là rất cần thiết để nâng cao hiệu quả học tập.

1.1. Tầm Quan Trọng Của Từ Vựng Trong Học Tiếng Anh

Từ vựng không chỉ là những từ đơn lẻ mà còn là nền tảng cho việc giao tiếp hiệu quả. Theo Wilkins, "không có từ vựng, không có giao tiếp". Điều này cho thấy rằng việc nắm vững từ vựng là điều kiện tiên quyết để phát triển các kỹ năng ngôn ngữ khác.

1.2. Những Sai Lầm Thường Gặp Khi Học Từ Vựng

Sinh viên thường mắc phải những sai lầm như không chú ý đến phát âm, học từ vựng mà không có mục đích rõ ràng, hoặc không học từ trong ngữ cảnh. Những sai lầm này cản trở khả năng sử dụng từ vựng trong giao tiếp hàng ngày.

II. Vấn Đề Và Thách Thức Trong Việc Học Từ Vựng

Việc học từ vựng không chỉ đơn thuần là ghi nhớ từ mà còn bao gồm việc hiểu và sử dụng chúng trong ngữ cảnh. Nhiều sinh viên gặp khó khăn trong việc áp dụng từ vựng vào thực tế do thiếu phương pháp học tập hiệu quả. Những thách thức này cần được nhận diện và giải quyết để cải thiện khả năng học từ vựng.

2.1. Khó Khăn Khi Học Từ Vựng Mới

Nhiều sinh viên cảm thấy khó khăn khi phải học quá nhiều từ mới cùng một lúc. Điều này dẫn đến việc không thể ghi nhớ và sử dụng từ vựng một cách hiệu quả.

2.2. Thiếu Ngữ Cảnh Trong Việc Học Từ Vựng

Học từ vựng mà không có ngữ cảnh sẽ khiến sinh viên khó hiểu và áp dụng từ vào thực tế. Việc học từ trong câu hoặc đoạn văn sẽ giúp sinh viên hiểu rõ hơn về cách sử dụng từ.

III. Phương Pháp Học Từ Vựng Hiệu Quả Cho Sinh Viên Năm Nhất

Để khắc phục những sai lầm trong việc học từ vựng, sinh viên cần áp dụng những phương pháp học tập hiệu quả. Các phương pháp này không chỉ giúp ghi nhớ từ mà còn nâng cao khả năng sử dụng từ trong giao tiếp.

3.1. Học Từ Vựng Có Mục Đích

Việc xác định mục đích học từ vựng sẽ giúp sinh viên tập trung vào những từ cần thiết cho việc giao tiếp hàng ngày hoặc cho các bài thi. Điều này giúp tối ưu hóa quá trình học tập.

V. Kết Luận Về Những Sai Lầm Khi Học Từ Vựng

Tuy nhiên, việc nhận diện và khắc phục những sai lầm này là rất quan trọng để nâng cao hiệu quả học tập. Sinh viên cần áp dụng các phương pháp học tập hiệu quả và thực hành thường xuyên để cải thiện khả năng sử dụng từ vựng.

5.1. Tương Lai Của Việc Học Từ Vựng

Việc học từ vựng sẽ tiếp tục đóng vai trò quan trọng trong quá trình học ngoại ngữ. Sinh viên cần nhận thức rõ về tầm quan trọng của từ vựng và không ngừng cải thiện kỹ năng này.

5.2. Khuyến Khích Sinh Viên Tìm Kiếm Giải Pháp

Sinh viên nên chủ động tìm kiếm các giải pháp học tập hiệu quả và tham gia vào các hoạt động ngoại khóa để nâng cao khả năng sử dụng từ vựng trong thực tế.

The above quote shows the primary importance of vocabulary in learning a language.

Although it is a small cell, it is a key factor in forming learners' language skills. Vocabulary is extremely important because it provides conversational input without properly understanding the input, learning simply cannot progress. With rich capital vocabulary, learners themselves will develop communication, essay writing, and speaking skills. Moreover, thanks to the abundance of vocabulary, learners can understand other people's ideas as well as express themselves clearly and concisely.

In addition, without vocabulary, no communication can be achieved. Language learners, especially those who learn English as a foreign language in a non-native setting find it difficult to practice speaking English because of the lack of vocabulary. This small study helps find out the common mistakes that first-year non-English at Hai Phong Management and Technology University students make in learning vocabulary and suggests some solutions to help students learn vocabulary effectively. I hope that my research would bring students some recommendations for their vocabulary.

A person with a rich and rich vocabulary can express their personal opinions well and succeed in communication. Without vocabulary, no matter how good ideas we have, grammar or body language cannot convey, and understanding the other person is also a difficult thing. Learning English vocabulary is also the focus of language teaching and it is also very important for language learners.

During my 4 years of studying at the school, still feel that I still have difficulty learning vocabulary when I want to speak, I can't remember a word, and it seems that I can't say it out loud and I'm not sure how to use them. I found myself having a lot of problems with vocabulary and making a lot of mistakes along the way. I realized I practiced them too little. I think non-English major students at Hai Phong Management and Technology University also encounter common mistakes like me, with the desire to find solutions to help students improve their vocabulary.

To improve students' English proficiency, the research "A study on common mistakes in learning vocabulary made by the first-year non-English majors at Hai Phong Management and Technology of University and some suggested solutions" was carried out with the hope of improving students' English proficiency. As well as helping students realize their mistakes so that learning vocabulary is more effective. As a result, learning vocabulary is no longer an obstacle for them.2 Aims of the Study Most students learn vocabulary but cannot apply it in speaking or writing. We just stopped at the level of recognizing them, but we can not own them to use in communication.

Therefore, we face a lot of difficulties. For these reasons, this study aims to point out common mistakes in learning English vocabulary of first- year students and propose solutions to help students realize their mistakes. From there, they are able to make the best use of their own ability to learn and use their own vocabulary.3 Methods of the Study The study will be conducted using qualitative methods. The study includes survey questionnaires for the first year non-English at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology.

After getting the results, the researcher will use charts for presenting the collected data.4 Scopes of the Study The subject of this research is limited to the first-year program, at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology. Forty students will be the sample of this survey. The tool for the survey was a self-administered questionnaire. Participants were asked to answer the questionnaire themselves.

The questionnaire includes both closed and open questions.5 The organization of the study The study includes : 3 Parts mainly organized as follows: PART I: Introduction deals with :Rational, Aims of the study, Scope of the study,Methods of the study, The organization of the study. 16 PART II: DEVELOPMENT Chapter 1: Literature review 1.1 The Definition of Vocabulary According to Richards (2002:255), vocabulary is the core component of language proficiency and provides much of the basis for how well learners speak, listen, read, and write. In addition, Richards and Schmidt (2002:580) state that vocabulary is a set of lexemes, including single words, compound words, and idioms. Those definitions show that vocabulary is the first element that English learners should learn in order to master English well besides the other English components and skills. The vocabulary of language always changes and grows.

As life becomes more complex, people devise or borrow new words to describe man’s activities. No one knows the exact number of words in the English vocabulary today.
