I. Tổng quan về các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh

Kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh là một trong những kỹ năng quan trọng nhất mà sinh viên ngành Ngôn ngữ Anh cần phát triển. Tại Trường Đại học Quản lý và Công nghệ Hải Phòng, sinh viên năm nhất thường gặp nhiều khó khăn trong việc cải thiện kỹ năng này. Nghiên cứu này nhằm tìm hiểu các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh của sinh viên năm nhất và đề xuất các phương pháp cải thiện hiệu quả.

1.1. Định nghĩa và tầm quan trọng của kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh

Kỹ năng nói được định nghĩa là khả năng truyền đạt thông tin và cảm xúc qua lời nói. Theo Chaney & Burk (1998), nói là một phần quan trọng trong việc dạy và học ngôn ngữ thứ hai, giúp xây dựng và chia sẻ ý nghĩa qua các biểu tượng ngôn ngữ và phi ngôn ngữ.

1.2. Các loại hình nói trong giao tiếp

Có hai loại hình nói chính: độc thoại và đối thoại. Độc thoại là khi một người nói mà không có sự can thiệp từ người khác, trong khi đối thoại là sự tương tác giữa hai hoặc nhiều người, nơi mà thông tin được trao đổi và hiểu rõ hơn.

II. Những thách thức trong việc phát triển kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh

Sinh viên năm nhất thường gặp phải nhiều thách thức trong việc phát triển kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh. Những thách thức này có thể đến từ yếu tố cá nhân, môi trường học tập, và phương pháp giảng dạy. Việc nhận diện và hiểu rõ những thách thức này là rất quan trọng để tìm ra giải pháp hiệu quả.

2.1. Yếu tố cá nhân ảnh hưởng đến kỹ năng nói

Nỗi sợ hãi khi nói trước đám đông, thiếu tự tin và khả năng ngôn ngữ hạn chế là những yếu tố cá nhân có thể cản trở sinh viên trong việc phát triển kỹ năng nói. Theo Tarone (2005), sự tự tin là yếu tố quan trọng giúp sinh viên giao tiếp hiệu quả.

2.2. Môi trường học tập và ảnh hưởng đến kỹ năng nói

Môi trường học tập không khuyến khích giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh có thể làm giảm khả năng thực hành và cải thiện kỹ năng nói. Việc thiếu cơ hội thực hành trong lớp học và ngoài đời thực cũng là một yếu tố quan trọng.

III. Phương pháp cải thiện kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh cho sinh viên năm nhất

Để cải thiện kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh, sinh viên cần áp dụng các phương pháp học tập hiệu quả. Những phương pháp này không chỉ giúp sinh viên nâng cao khả năng giao tiếp mà còn tạo ra môi trường học tập tích cực.

3.1. Học nhóm và thực hành giao tiếp

Học nhóm là một phương pháp hiệu quả giúp sinh viên thực hành kỹ năng nói. Việc thảo luận và trao đổi ý kiến trong nhóm giúp sinh viên tự tin hơn khi giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh.

3.2. Tham gia câu lạc bộ tiếng Anh

Tham gia các câu lạc bộ tiếng Anh là một cách tuyệt vời để sinh viên thực hành kỹ năng nói. Các hoạt động trong câu lạc bộ giúp sinh viên giao lưu, học hỏi và cải thiện khả năng giao tiếp của mình.

IV. Ứng dụng thực tiễn và kết quả nghiên cứu

Nghiên cứu này đã chỉ ra rằng việc áp dụng các phương pháp cải thiện kỹ năng nói có thể mang lại kết quả tích cực cho sinh viên năm nhất. Các sinh viên đã có sự tiến bộ rõ rệt trong khả năng giao tiếp và tự tin khi nói tiếng Anh.

4.1. Kết quả từ khảo sát sinh viên

Khảo sát cho thấy rằng 70% sinh viên cảm thấy tự tin hơn khi tham gia các hoạt động giao tiếp tiếng Anh sau khi áp dụng các phương pháp học tập mới.

4.2. Phản hồi từ giảng viên

Giảng viên nhận thấy sự cải thiện rõ rệt trong khả năng nói của sinh viên, cho thấy rằng các phương pháp giảng dạy và học tập đã được áp dụng hiệu quả.

V. Kết luận và hướng phát triển tương lai

Kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh là một yếu tố quan trọng trong việc học ngôn ngữ. Việc nhận diện các yếu tố ảnh hưởng và áp dụng các phương pháp cải thiện sẽ giúp sinh viên năm nhất tại Trường Đại học Quản lý và Công nghệ Hải Phòng nâng cao khả năng giao tiếp của mình. Hướng phát triển tương lai cần tập trung vào việc tạo ra môi trường học tập tích cực và khuyến khích sinh viên thực hành nhiều hơn.

5.1. Đề xuất cho nghiên cứu tiếp theo

Nghiên cứu tiếp theo nên tập trung vào việc phát triển các chương trình đào tạo kỹ năng nói cho sinh viên, nhằm đáp ứng nhu cầu thực tế trong giao tiếp.

5.2. Tương lai của kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh

Kỹ năng nói tiếng Anh sẽ ngày càng trở nên quan trọng trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa. Việc cải thiện kỹ năng này không chỉ giúp sinh viên thành công trong học tập mà còn trong sự nghiệp sau này.

Therefore, learning speaking becomes the greatest interest for foreign language learners.

After studying at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Hai Phong Management and Technology University, for nearly four years, I realize that the first year students of English majors still have many difficulties in their speaking skill.

In the hope of finding out the solutions learning speaking, a study: “Factors affecting English speaking skill of the first year English majors and the ways how to improve at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology” has been conducted because of all above mentioned reason. Due to such factors, many students have faced the obstacles in learning and practicing this skill in class, therefore the study would like to suggest the ways how to improve their speaking skill. These solutions also aim to help the students catch up with the speed of a normal conversation in the real life so that they can improve their communication competence.

The scope of the study This study focuses on giving a definition of speaking skills, types of speaking and factors affecting speaking skills of first year English majors and the ways how to impove at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology. The method of the study To carry out this study, I applied qualitative and quantitative method. A survey questionnaire was conducted by the first year English majors at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology to find out the factors which are the obstacles for their speaking skill. After getting the results, the researcher will use the comments, remarks, recommendations and conclusion provided in the study for presenting the collection data.

From there, it is possible to suggest the ways to improve English speaking skills of first year students at Hai Phong University of Management and Technology. Design of the study The thesis is divided into three parts: Part I: Introduction; Part II: Development; Part III: Conclusion Part I: Introduction This chapter provides an overview of the study such as the rationale, the aims, scope, design and methods of the study. Part II: Development Chapter 1: Theoretical background This chapter handles the theoretical background of the issues relating to speaking such as its definition, types of speaking, purpose and component of speaking and problems that the first year students usually have in speaking.
