I. Giới thiệu

Kỹ năng nghe đóng vai trò quan trọng trong việc học ngoại ngữ, đặc biệt là đối với học sinh THPT tại Hải Phòng. Nghiên cứu này nhằm tìm hiểu những khó khăn mà học sinh gặp phải trong quá trình học nghe tiếng Anh và đề xuất các giải pháp cải thiện kỹ năng nghe. Việc nâng cao kỹ năng giao tiếp thông qua kỹ năng nghe là cần thiết để học sinh có thể tiếp thu kiến thức hiệu quả hơn.

1.1. Tầm quan trọng của kỹ năng nghe

Kỹ năng nghe không chỉ là một phần của việc học ngoại ngữ mà còn là một kỹ năng sống thiết yếu. Theo nghiên cứu, việc cải thiện kỹ năng nghe giúp học sinh có thể hiểu và giao tiếp tốt hơn trong các tình huống thực tế. Học sinh THPT thường gặp khó khăn trong việc tiếp nhận thông tin từ các bài giảng hoặc tài liệu nghe, điều này ảnh hưởng đến kết quả học tập của họ. Do đó, việc tìm ra các phương pháp nghe hiệu quả là rất quan trọng.

II. Các khó khăn trong kỹ năng nghe

Học sinh THPT tại Hải Phòng thường gặp phải nhiều khó khăn trong việc nghe tiếng Anh. Những khó khăn này bao gồm tốc độ nói nhanh, từ vựng không quen thuộc và cách phát âm khác nhau. Nghiên cứu cho thấy rằng nhiều học sinh cảm thấy thiếu tự tin khi nghe, dẫn đến việc họ không thể hiểu được thông điệp. Việc thiếu tài liệu học tập phù hợp cũng là một yếu tố gây cản trở. Học sinh cần được hỗ trợ để vượt qua những khó khăn này thông qua các giải pháp học tập hiệu quả.

2.1. Nguyên nhân gây khó khăn

Có nhiều nguyên nhân dẫn đến khó khăn trong kỹ năng nghe của học sinh. Một trong những nguyên nhân chính là thiếu kinh nghiệm nghe trong môi trường thực tế. Học sinh thường chỉ nghe trong lớp học mà không có cơ hội thực hành trong các tình huống giao tiếp thực tế. Ngoài ra, việc thiếu giáo viên có kinh nghiệm trong việc giảng dạy kỹ năng nghe cũng góp phần làm giảm hiệu quả học tập của học sinh.

III. Giải pháp cải thiện kỹ năng nghe

Để cải thiện kỹ năng nghe cho học sinh THPT tại Hải Phòng, cần áp dụng một số giải pháp học tập hiệu quả. Một trong những giải pháp là tổ chức các lớp học nghe chuyên biệt, nơi học sinh có thể thực hành nghe với các tài liệu phong phú và đa dạng. Bên cạnh đó, việc sử dụng công nghệ trong giảng dạy như các ứng dụng học tiếng Anh cũng rất hữu ích. Học sinh nên được khuyến khích tham gia các hoạt động ngoại khóa liên quan đến nghe tiếng Anh để nâng cao khả năng giao tiếp.

3.1. Tổ chức lớp học nghe

Tổ chức các lớp học nghe chuyên biệt sẽ giúp học sinh có cơ hội thực hành và cải thiện kỹ năng nghe của mình. Trong các lớp học này, giáo viên có thể sử dụng các tài liệu nghe phong phú, từ các bài hát, video đến các bài giảng trực tuyến. Việc này không chỉ giúp học sinh làm quen với các giọng nói khác nhau mà còn giúp họ phát triển khả năng hiểu biết ngữ cảnh trong giao tiếp.

IV. Đánh giá và kết luận

Nghiên cứu này đã chỉ ra rằng việc cải thiện kỹ năng nghe cho học sinh THPT tại Hải Phòng là một nhiệm vụ cần thiết và cấp bách. Các giải pháp học tập được đề xuất không chỉ giúp học sinh vượt qua khó khăn mà còn nâng cao khả năng giao tiếp của họ. Việc áp dụng các phương pháp học tập hiện đại và tổ chức các hoạt động thực tế sẽ tạo ra môi trường học tập tích cực, giúp học sinh phát triển toàn diện.

4.1. Tầm quan trọng của việc cải thiện kỹ năng nghe

Việc cải thiện kỹ năng nghe không chỉ giúp học sinh trong việc học tiếng Anh mà còn trong việc giao tiếp hàng ngày. Kỹ năng này là nền tảng cho việc học tập và phát triển bản thân. Học sinh cần nhận thức rõ tầm quan trọng của kỹ năng nghe để có thể chủ động trong việc học tập và giao tiếp trong tương lai.

People listen for different purposes such as entertainment, academic purposes or obtaining necessary information.

As for foreign language learning, listening is of paramount important since it provides the language input. Without understanding input appropriately, learning simply can not get any improvement. In addition, without listening skill, no communication can be achieved. As for that, language learners, especially those who learn English as a foreign language in a non-native setting, find it difficult to acquire good listening skill.

This small project is an attempt to identify problems faced by the Tran Hung Dao upper secondary school. English even becomes the international language, is used in many countries in a popular way and is the mother tongue of many countries over the world.

In fact, English is the native language of more than 350 million people and it is spoken more than any other languages. It is the international language of different fields such as business, politics, science, technology, banking, tourism and others. Therefore, the demand for learning English is very great. In Vietnam as well as in other countries, there is a greater and greater need to learn English, from young to old, and from male to female alike.

English gradually plays a vital role in Vietnam nowadays. Therefore, it is being taught at every educational level and it has become a compulsory subject in most schools. Being good at communication in English particularly and in foreign languages generally is the desire of all foreign language learners. However, it requires them to speak and to listen well in which listening seems the most challenging task for every student.

In fact, there are many factors affecting the learners in listening acquisition. Consequently, it is very difficult for them to master this skill. Like students from different universities, I have faced many difficulties in listening. With four - year experience in learning the skill and from what me observed in practicing listening of other classmates, it can be found that many students failed in practicing listening skill.

Some of them complained that they felt unconfident with listening tasks so they could hardly understand the spoken messages. All these above reasons have inspired I to do research on listening skill and as a result, a research title goes as “Difficulties of learning listening comprehension faced by Tran Hung Dao upper secondary school 1 Luan van 1.2 Aims of the study This research attempts to explore ways employed by students while doing their won listening. It also aims to find out difficulties as well as to provide some recommendation for improvement.3 Justification Listening is almost ignored in both secondary and high school, where students spent seven years in English language learning. This results in poor listening skill when they become English major.

As compared with other language skill, listening is considered the most challenging subject. Therefore low scores in listening are unavoidable. Objectives of the study The main objective of this research is as follows: To investigate English listening problems and listening proficiency of students the grade 12 The sub-objectives of this research are as follows: To investigate the causes of misunderstanding and misinterpreting English messages and obtain the suggestions from the students that would help them improving their English listening skill. Scope of the study The subjects of this research are limited to 12 graders program, at Tran Hung Dao high school.

90 students will be the sample of this survey. The instrument for the survey is a self- administered questionnaire. The participants are asked to answer the questionnaire by themselves. The questionnaire consists of both closed-ended and opened-ended questions.

Methods of the study The study will be conducted using quantitative and qualitative methods. The study includes survey questionnaires for both teachers and students, interview questions for students only grade 12 at the Tran Hung Dao upper secondary school. After getting the results, the researcher will use the tables and charts for presenting the collected data.7 The organization of the study The study includes : 3 Parts mainly organized as follows: Part I: Introduction deals with :Rational, Aims of the study, Justification, Objective of the study, Scope of the study, Methods of the study, The organization of the study. If you cannot hear it well you will find it hard to communicate or perhaps you cannot pass your listening examination for instance. In fact, students often take the wrong way when listening and this leads them to the poor result. It should be noted that the learner’s perception of their listening problem and strategies can affect their comprehension both positively and negatively (Wenden, 1986).
