I. Tổng quan về Nghiên cứu Dịch thuật Anh Việt Danh từ Ghép trong Công nghệ Thông tin

Luận văn "A Study on English-Vietnamese Translation of Compound Nouns in Information Technology" của Nguyên Thị Oanh là một công trình nghiên cứu học thuật sâu sắc về dịch thuật các danh từ ghép tiếng Anh sang tiếng Việt trong lĩnh vực công nghệ thông tin. Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện tại Trường Đại học Ngoại ngữ và Quan hệ Quốc tế, Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội, nhằm xác định các chiến lược dịch thuật phổ biến và ứng dụng của chúng. Công trình này có ý nghĩa quan trọng trong việc cải thiện chất lượng dịch thuật các thuật ngữ công nghệ thông tin, đặc biệt là các danh từ ghép phức tạp.

1.1. Động lực và Bối cảnh Nghiên cứu

Trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa và phát triển nhanh chóng của công nghệ thông tin, nhu cầu dịch thuật các thuật ngữ IT trở nên cấp bách. Việt Nam, với vai trò ngày càng quan trọng trong lĩnh vực công nghệ, cần những dịch giả chuyên môn có khả năng dịch thuật chính xác các danh từ ghép tiếng Anh thành tiếng Việt. Kinh nghiệm làm việc tại FPT Corporation, một trong những tập đoàn công nghệ lớn nhất Việt Nam, đã thúc đẩy việc thực hiện nghiên cứu này.

1.2. Mục tiêu Chính của Luận văn

Luận văn đặt ra các mục tiêu nghiên cứu cụ thể gồm: xác định các danh từ ghép tiếng Anh phổ biến trong công nghệ thông tin và tương đương tiếng Việt của chúng; phân tích các chiến lược dịch thuật được áp dụng để dịch các thuật ngữ này. Thông qua những mục tiêu này, luận văn hướng đến cải thiện kỹ năng dịch thuật cho các nhà dịch thuật, nhà nghiên cứu, và những người quan tâm đến lĩnh vực công nghệ.

II. Các Câu hỏi Nghiên cứu và Phương pháp Tiếp cận

Để đạt được các mục tiêu đã nêu, luận văn đặt ra hai câu hỏi nghiên cứu chính. Thứ nhất, xác định những danh từ ghép tiếng Anh trong tài liệu công nghệ thông tin và các tương đương tiếng Việt của chúng từ từ điển hoặc trên Internet. Thứ hai, phân tích các chiến lược dịch thuật phổ biến được sử dụng để dịch các danh từ ghép từ tiếng Anh sang tiếng Việt. Phương pháp mô tả phân tích được sử dụng chính, kết hợp với các phương pháp so sánh, thống kê và phân loại để xử lý dữ liệu thu thập được.

2.1. Phạm vi và Giới hạn của Nghiên cứu

Do số lượng danh từ ghép công nghệ thông tin rất lớn và đa dạng, nghiên cứu giới hạn phạm vi chỉ tập trung vào các danh từ ghép trong lĩnh vực công nghệ máy tính. Trong số các loại từ ghép như tính từ ghép, trạng từ ghép và động từ ghép, danh từ ghép được coi là lớn nhất và đa dạng nhất, do đó là trọng tâm của công trình.

2.2. Phương pháp Nghiên cứu Được Áp dụng

Luận văn áp dụng phương pháp mô tả làm phương pháp chính để phân tích và xác định chiến lược dịch phổ biến. Ngoài ra, các phương pháp phân tích, thống kê, so sánh và đối chiếu cũng được sử dụng. Các danh từ ghép IT tiếng Anh và tương đương tiếng Việt được thu thập và xử lý thông qua phân loại, mô tả, phân tích, so sánh và đối chiếu.

III. Cấu trúc và Nội dung Chính của Luận văn

Luận văn được chia thành ba phần chính: Phần mở đầu giới thiệu về bối cảnh, động lực và ý nghĩa của nghiên cứu. Phần phát triển là phần chi tiết nhất, nơi tiến hành phân tích các danh từ ghép tiếng Anh trong công nghệ thông tin và các chiến lược dịch thuật để chuyển đổi chúng sang tiếng Việt. Phần kết luận tóm tắt các phát hiện chính và đưa ra khuyến nghị cho dịch giả và nhà nghiên cứu trong lĩnh vực này.

3.1. Phần Mở đầu và Bối cảnh

Phần mở đầu của luận văn nhấn mạnh vai trò quan trọng của dịch thuật trong trao đổi quốc tế và sự phát triển công nghệ. Nó trình bày lý do chọn đề tài, bối cảnh của công nghệ thông tin ở Việt Nam, và nhu cầu cấp bách về dịch thuật các thuật ngữ IT chính xác trong bối cảnh kinh tế thị trường mở và hợp tác quốc tế.

3.2. Phần Phát triển và Kết luận

Phần phát triển phân tích chi tiết các danh từ ghép và chiến lược dịch thuật được áp dụng. Phần kết luận tóm tắt những phát hiện chính, đánh giá hiệu quả của các chiến lược dịch thuật khác nhau, và đề xuất các khuyến nghị thực tiễn cho dịch giả, kỹ sư IT, và những người quan tâm đến dịch thuật công nghệ thông tin.

IV. Ý nghĩa và Ứng dụng Thực tiễn của Nghiên cứu

Luận văn này mang ý nghĩa học thuật và thực tiễn quan trọng. Nó cung cấp kiến thức chuyên sâu về các chiến lược dịch thuật hiệu quả cho các danh từ ghép tiếng Anh trong lĩnh vực công nghệ thông tin. Các phát hiện của nghiên cứu có thể giúp dịch giả chuyên môn cải thiện chất lượng dịch thuật, giúp nhà nghiên cứu hiểu rõ hơn về quá trình dịch thuật các thuật ngữ kỹ thuật, và hỗ trợ kỹ sư IT trong việc giao tiếp và trao đổi thông tin công nghệ.

4.1. Lợi ích cho Các Dịch giả và Nhà Nghiên cứu

Công trình nghiên cứu cung cấp tài liệu tham khảo quý báu cho dịch giả chuyên ngành công nghệ thông tin, giúp họ hiểu rõ hơn về các chiến lược dịch thuật khác nhau và khi nào nên áp dụng mỗi chiến lược. Ngoài ra, nó còn tạo cơ sở lý thuyết cho các nhà nghiên cứu khác muốn tiếp tục nghiên cứu sâu hơn về dịch thuật kỹ thuật và quản lý thuật ngữ công nghệ thông tin.

4.2. Ứng dụng trong Bối cảnh Công nghệ và Quốc tế hóa

Trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa và phát triển nhanh chóng của công nghệ thông tin, các thuật ngữ IT không ngừng được cập nhật. Nghiên cứu này giúp dịch giả cập nhật kiến thức, cải thiện kỹ năng dịch thuật, và nâng cao chất lượng của các tài liệu công nghệ thông tin dành cho người Việt, từ đó hỗ trợ sự phát triển của ngành công nghệ ở Việt Nam.

Rationale of the study In the globalized world, translation has played an important role and has had remarkable influsnces on facilitating international exchanges and cooporalion in various fields, particularly in information technology. Information technology (IT) has been crossing geographical boundaries in serving clients and other industries. Tn Vietnam, informnation icelmology has an indispensable role in the county's industrialization and modemization. Information technology with its superhighway has revolutionized man’s ways of working.

Ta [he siluation of an open market cconomy with international cooperation and fast-pace development of I'l, translation of {1 terminologies, therefore, has become an urgenl.- iced lo exchange informnalion and updale mods tectmology. Being a project assistant in the FPT Corporation, one of the biggest IT corporations in Vietnam, I am fully aware that the translation of IT terms is a difficult job. It requires translators to continuously improve knowledge in the IT field as well as translation skills. That is the main inspiration to me to carry out this research.

All the things concerned above have offered the researcher an opportunity to conduct a study on “English-Vietnamese transiation of compound nouns in information fechnology. Hopefully, the thesis will bring benefits lo translators/interpreters, researchers, I'l’ engineers, and those who are interested in the field. ABSTRACT This thesis focuses on the translation of English compound nouns in the information technology (IT from now on) into Vieismese. It aims al, investigaling the five common strategies normally applied to translate IT compound nouns from English into Vietnamese. The study staris with the theoretical background Lat elaborales on the nolion of translation, translation methods as well as translation procedures and cquivalence. ‘Then it touches upon the typical features of Linglish compound nouns in information technology.

Tu the main part, a delailed investigation and examination of the translation of these English compound nouns is carried out, from which it identifies the common translation strategies used in this field. The five common strategies, namely transposilion, transference, naturalization, couplets procedure (combining both transference and naturalization) and communication methods are common choices that translators often make in different situations or for different types of compound nouns, through cach procedure embodies in itself both advantages and disadvantages. Lopefully, the results of the study will be of some help to people who are in charge of teaching. studying and translating English IT terms into Vietnamese.
