REASONS OF SELECTING TOPIC OF THESIS Vietnam's stock market officially came into operation in August 2000 has created a direct capital mobilization channel contributing significantly to the economic development of our country. However, despite over 18 years of operation, Vietnam's stock market is still very young compared to the stock markets in the world such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia,. At the boom of the Vietnam stock market in 2006 and 2007, almost all investors chose the stock market as a place to make a profit.
However, in 2008, economic crisis has affected many of the listed companies' operations on the stock market, leading to a fall in the share price of these companies. The crisis also led to investor demand for securities is no longer the same as in previous years, the stock market is no longer an attractive investment choice of many. Both domestic and foreign investors tend to be more cautious in their investment decisions and many investors are less interested in the stock market. Many investors give up because of heavy losses due to price fluctuations too large.
Those who stick to the market do not seem to trust the listed companies. In addition to the economic crisis, one of the reasons for this is the fact that investors still do not have enough knowledge, experience and information to evaluate the listed companies and select qualified stocks to invest. At present, the stock market has gradually recovered and there have been many ups and downs, investors are more cautious and they will rest assuredly enter the market when having their expert consultants. According to ACBS Financial Report in 2017, ACBS has been back in the top 10th companies with a large market share in the Vietnam stock market from the fourth quarter with a total asset value of VND2,723 billion.
On the HNX, ACBS has returned to the top 5 with 6.08% of market share in the fourth quarter and holds the sixth position in the whole in 2017. For HoSE, ACBS holds 3.13% of market share and holds the position seventh in the 1 fourth quarter in 2017. For that reason, I decided to take the subject “Measuring factors affecting stock investment decisions of individual investors at Asia Commercial joint stock Bank Securities limited company” for my bachelor thesis. BACKGROUND TO THE RESEARCH Up to now, there have been a number of research projects on issues related to the stock market as well as investment issues of individuals in the market.
These topics have shed light on the development of the stock market and are considered one of the most modern investment channels in the integration process today. Some research topics related to the stock options of investors can be referred to as: Foreign research: - Obenberger and his partner (1994) with their research "Factors influencing individual investor behaviour" is a study of the financial factors that influence the decision of an individual investor with variables in the model including factor personal information, stock information, market information and personal financial needs.
