I. Tại sao nên luyện nghe tiếng Anh qua talk show

Luyện nghe tiếng Anh qua talk show là một phương pháp học tập hiệu quả và thú vị. Talk show cung cấp môi trường nghe tự nhiên với các cuộc hội thoại thực tế giữa những người bản xứ. Điều này giúp người học làm quen với các accent khác nhau, tốc độ nói nhanh và cách phát âm tự nhiên của tiếng Anh. Nghiên cứu từ Đại học Sư phạm Kỹ thuật Hưng Yên chỉ ra rằng sinh viên chuyên ngành tiếng Anh cảm thấy kỹ năng nghe là nhiệm vụ vô cùng khó khăn. Tuy nhiên, thông qua watching English talk shows, người học có thể tiếp xúc với tiếng Anh gốc, giúp cải thiện kỹ năng nghe một cách đáng kể. Talk show không chỉ là công cụ học tập mà còn là một nguồn giải trí, giúp tăng tính tích cực và bền bỉ trong quá trình học.

1.1. Lợi ích của nghe tiếng Anh qua talk show

Talk show mang lại nhiều lợi ích cho người học kỹ năng nghe tiếng Anh. Thứ nhất, nó cung cấp nội dung thực tế và hấp dẫn, giúp người học duy trì sự tập trung. Thứ hai, talk show có sự đa dạng về chủ đề, từ giáo dục, giải trí đến khoa học, giúp mở rộng vốn từ vựng. Thứ ba, người học có thể học cách sử dụng tiếng Anh một cách tự nhiên, bao gồm các idiom, slang và cách nói thông thường của người bản xứ.

Thói quen luyện nghe đều đặn là yếu tố quan trọng để thành công. Hãy đặt thời gian cố định mỗi ngày, ví dụ sáng trước khi đi học hoặc tối trước khi ngủ. Bắt đầu với 15-20 phút, sau đó tăng lên 30-45 phút. Sự kiên trì hàng ngày sẽ mang lại kết quả tốt hơn so với luyện tập không đều đặn.

4.2. Đánh giá và cải thiện liên tục

Định kỳ đánh giá tiến độ luyện nghe của bạn. Ghi chép những từ vựng đã học, những câu cấu trúc đã nhớ được. So sánh khả năng nghe của bạn sau mỗi tuần, mỗi tháng. The data was gathered by survey questionnaires, which were delivered to 64 second-year English major students of FFL at UTEHY My Hao campus and Khoai Chau campus, but only 40 of them used watching English talk shows to learn listening skill. The interview was also used to collect information from 5 second-year students of FFL at UTEHY.

The findings revealed that the majority of students regarded listening skills as an extremely difficult task, and that they were likely to make a variety of mistakes during the listening and writing down processes. It additionally found that these students have practiced in their own ways. In the trend of globalization, the significance of English can't be denied and overlooked in light of the fact that it is broadly used all over. Particularly, for developing nations, for example, Vietnam, English has educated since the beginning, just as numerous young people know about its significance for reasons like having high-quality work, communicating with the larger world and approaching abroad achievements to enrich their knowledge.

With the rapid development and expansion of informational technologies, a common language is required for people from all countries to exchange information with one another, and English is used as a means of international communication. Therefore, there has been an explosion in the need for teaching and learning English all over the world. English has experienced its popularity in teaching and learning in Vietnam over the last few decades. Demand for learning English even gets stronger when Vietnam fosters its international relations.

English, in parallel with the knowledge of some other fields, turns out to be a key to opening the door into the bustling world. In any walk of life in Vietnam, you can find people using English; from the big cities to mountainous areas; from international conferences to daily conversation, or just a few pidgin words with foreign tourists. People learn and use English for different purposes. Like many other universities, UTEHY has also trained English majors with the hope that they can use English effectively.

Of the four language skills-listening, speaking, reading, and writing that all language learners are supposed to acquire. Listening is believed to be the most challenging due to the complex and subtle nature of listening comprehension in a second or foreign language. As their major is English, each of the students at the Department of Foreign languages UTEHY is always aware of how important listening skill in general and the second year English major students at UTEHY, in particular, they have to cope with when they have not equipped themselves with enough language standards, self-competence and confidence. To obtain the goal of training students to become active listeners, teachers at the Department of Foreign 2 Languages always pay attention to teaching methods as well as the techniques to help students develop their listening ability.

Being one of the forth students of English of UTEHY, I would like to do something with the hope of figuring out some techniques for the second year English major students at UTEHY in order to improve their listening skill as a result, the thesis title goes as: "A study on techniques to improve listening skill by watching English talk shows for the second-year English major students at Hung Yen university of Technology and Education" 1. Aims of the study. The vital purpose of the study: Suggest some techniques to improve listening skill by watching English talk shows for the second-year English major students at UTEHY. To investigate the attitudes of the second-year English major students towards watching English talk shows to improve listening skill.

To assess the challenges that the second-year English major students at UTEHY face when using English talk shows to improve listening skill. To suggest techniques to help to improve the students’ ability to listen. The research attempts to answer three following questions: 1. What are the attitudes of the second-year English major students of FFL at UTEHY learning listening skill when watching English talk shows? 2.

What are the difficulties that the second-year English major students at UTEHY face when using English talk shows to improve listening skill? 3. What techniques should be used to improve students’ listening skill by watching English talk shows? 3 1. Scope of the study. The study is about improving listening skill for the second-year English major students of FFL at UTEHY.

Because of time and information constraints, as well as a lack of reference resources, this study cannot resolve the whole problem of listening skill. It just looks at improving listening skill by watching English talk shows Moreover, the study was unable to include all UTEHY. My study is designed for the second-year English students major of FFL at UTEHY My Hao campus and Khoai Chau campus only. Method of the study The author used both quantitative and qualitative approaches to gather data, including student questionnaires and interview questions for students (consist of 10 questions for survey questionnaire and 5 questions for interview).

These questions were created with the study's main objectives in mind. The survey questionnaires delivered quantitatively to 64 the second-year English majors of FFL at UTEHY (including 24 students on My Hao campus and 40 students on Khoai Chau campus) to find out their attitudes toward listening skill by watching English talk shows, but only 40 student using this method. Interviews are conducted by researcher to students improve their listening skill by watching English talk shows and find out techniques.1 Survey questionnaire Questionnaire (including 10 question) for 64 students but data collected 40 students using watching talk shows to improve English listening skill of TAK17 at UTEHY to find out some new techniques for research: • Part A: Students’ attitudes towards watching English Talk Shows to learn listening skill.
