Ho Chi Minh City, July 2024 Student group vii ` ACKNOWLEDGMENTS In reality, no success comes without the support and assistance of others, whether directly or indirectly, and whether in small or significant ways. Throughout nearly four years of studying and training at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, we have received immense support and help from our teachers and friends.
Particularly, during this semester, the teachers from the Faculty of International Training and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering have provided us with opportunities to engage in practical work related to our field of study, making it easier for us to adapt to working conditions after graduation and allocating time to guide us in completing our graduation thesis. Thanks to this, we have been able to better understand, apply, and compare the knowledge acquired during our studies with the actual implementation of the thesis. We have identified gaps in our theoretical knowledge compared to practical realities and learned many valuable lessons that could not be realized just by sitting in the classroom. During the process of completing this thesis, despite encountering many difficulties, with the dedicated guidance and instruction of Assoc.
Pham Son Minh, we have gradually overcome these challenges and strived to complete the assigned tasks to the best of our ability. However, we are also aware that we must continuously learn because knowledge, in general, and the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, is always evolving. We sincerely thank the teachers of the department and the mold laboratory for providing the necessary equipment and support that allowed our group to complete this thesis. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our advisor, Assoc.
Pham Son Minh, who has diligently helped, closely supervised, and guided us throughout the thesis implementation process, and provided invaluable advice to ensure the best possible completion of this report. Once again, we sincerely thank you! viii ` ABSTRACT RESEARCH ON OPTIMIZING AIR COVER TO SERVE THE HEATING PROCESS FOR RECTANGULAR INJECTION MOLD CAVITIES Controlling the temperature of the mold is an important factor that affects the quality of the product. The research topic " RESEARCH ON OPTIMIZING AIR COVER TO SERVE THE HEATING PROCESS FOR RECTANGULAR INJECTION MOLD CAVITIES" presents the simulation, temperature prediction, optimization, and control for a rectangular mold using the rectangular model, Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Genetic Algorithm (GA).After carrying out the model simulation on the Ansys software with 3,750 different polyline elevations and identifying 22 critical points on the mold to monitor the temperature distribution, the ANN tool in MATLAB was used to accurately predict the temperatures. The polyline grid table was utilized to represent the positions of the points, and the simulated temperatures at these points were collected.
The Genetic Algorithm (GA) used the trained ANN results to evaluate the effectiveness of different polyline coordinates. From this, the optimal polyline position was identified, where the actual mold heating temperature reached the optimal value. After obtaining the accurate elevation, heating experiments were conducted and tested on the actual mold cavity with the optimal elevation. The results were compared between the experiment and simulation, as well as between the optimized model and the non- optimized model, to evaluate the effectiveness of this research method.
This research project was successful in simulating, optimizing and controlling temperature for rectangular molds. Using rectangular models, simulated on Ansys, ANN and GA software on MATLAB software, helped the research team determine the optimal polyline position, helping to improve mold heating efficiency and improve quality. This research topic has important scientific and practical significance. It provides a new method to simulate, optimize and control temperatures for molds, contributing to improving efficiency and quality in the industrial manufacturing sector.
