I. Tầm Quan Trọng Của Lý Tưởng Người Học Trong Học Tiếng Anh

Lý tưởng người học đóng vai trò quan trọng trong việc xác định thành công trong việc học tiếng Anh tại Học viện Biên phòng. Nghiên cứu cho thấy rằng lý tưởng này không chỉ là động lực mà còn là yếu tố quyết định trong quá trình học tập. Học viên có lý tưởng rõ ràng thường có xu hướng đạt được kết quả tốt hơn trong việc học ngôn ngữ. Điều này được chứng minh qua nhiều nghiên cứu trước đây, trong đó có nghiên cứu của Dörnyei (2005) về mô hình L2 Motivational Self System.

1.1. Lý Tưởng Người Học Là Gì

Lý tưởng người học là hình ảnh mà học viên mong muốn đạt được trong tương lai. Nó bao gồm những mục tiêu cá nhân và nghề nghiệp mà học viên hướng tới. Việc xây dựng lý tưởng này giúp học viên có động lực hơn trong việc học tiếng Anh.

1.2. Tác Động Của Lý Tưởng Đến Thành Công Trong Học Tiếng Anh

Nghiên cứu cho thấy rằng học viên có lý tưởng rõ ràng thường có động lực cao hơn và đạt kết quả tốt hơn trong việc học tiếng Anh. Họ có xu hướng đầu tư nhiều thời gian và công sức hơn vào việc học tập.

II. Vấn Đề Trong Việc Xây Dựng Lý Tưởng Người Học

Mặc dù lý tưởng người học rất quan trọng, nhưng không phải học viên nào cũng có thể xây dựng và duy trì lý tưởng này. Nhiều học viên gặp khó khăn trong việc xác định mục tiêu cá nhân và lý tưởng của mình. Điều này dẫn đến việc thiếu động lực và kết quả học tập không như mong đợi.

2.1. Những Thách Thức Trong Việc Xác Định Lý Tưởng

Nhiều học viên không rõ ràng về mục tiêu học tập của mình, dẫn đến việc thiếu định hướng. Điều này có thể do áp lực từ gia đình hoặc xã hội, khiến họ không thể tự do khám phá lý tưởng cá nhân.

2.2. Tác Động Của Môi Trường Đến Lý Tưởng Người Học

Môi trường học tập tại Học viện Biên phòng có thể ảnh hưởng lớn đến việc hình thành lý tưởng người học. Nếu môi trường không khuyến khích sự sáng tạo và tự do, học viên sẽ khó có thể phát triển lý tưởng cá nhân.

III. Phương Pháp Xây Dựng Lý Tưởng Người Học Hiệu Quả

Để xây dựng lý tưởng người học hiệu quả, cần có những phương pháp cụ thể và thực tiễn. Các giáo viên và học viên cần hợp tác để phát triển lý tưởng này thông qua các hoạt động học tập tích cực.

3.1. Tạo Môi Trường Khuyến Khích

Một môi trường học tập tích cực sẽ giúp học viên cảm thấy thoải mái hơn trong việc khám phá lý tưởng của mình. Các hoạt động nhóm và thảo luận có thể giúp học viên chia sẻ và phát triển lý tưởng cá nhân.

3.2. Sử Dụng Các Kỹ Năng Giao Tiếp

Kỹ năng giao tiếp là yếu tố quan trọng trong việc xây dựng lý tưởng người học. Học viên cần được khuyến khích tham gia vào các hoạt động giao tiếp để phát triển khả năng ngôn ngữ và tự tin hơn trong việc thể hiện lý tưởng của mình.

IV. Ứng Dụng Thực Tiễn Của Lý Tưởng Người Học

Việc áp dụng lý tưởng người học vào thực tiễn học tập có thể mang lại nhiều lợi ích. Học viên có thể thấy rõ sự tiến bộ của mình và cảm thấy tự tin hơn trong việc sử dụng tiếng Anh.

4.1. Kết Quả Nghiên Cứu Về Lý Tưởng Người Học

Nghiên cứu cho thấy rằng học viên có lý tưởng rõ ràng thường có kết quả học tập tốt hơn. Họ có xu hướng tham gia tích cực hơn vào các hoạt động học tập và giao tiếp.

4.2. Các Đề Xuất Để Cải Thiện Học Tập

Để cải thiện việc học tiếng Anh, cần có các chương trình đào tạo giúp học viên xây dựng và duy trì lý tưởng cá nhân. Các giáo viên cũng cần được đào tạo để hỗ trợ học viên trong quá trình này.

V. Kết Luận Về Tầm Quan Trọng Của Lý Tưởng Người Học

Lý tưởng người học là yếu tố quyết định trong việc học tiếng Anh tại Học viện Biên phòng. Việc xây dựng và duy trì lý tưởng này không chỉ giúp học viên có động lực mà còn nâng cao hiệu quả học tập. Cần có những biện pháp cụ thể để hỗ trợ học viên trong việc phát triển lý tưởng cá nhân.

5.1. Tương Lai Của Lý Tưởng Người Học

Trong tương lai, việc nghiên cứu và phát triển lý tưởng người học sẽ tiếp tục được chú trọng. Các phương pháp mới sẽ được áp dụng để nâng cao hiệu quả học tập.

5.2. Khuyến Khích Học Viên Phát Triển Lý Tưởng

Cần khuyến khích học viên tham gia vào các hoạt động phát triển bản thân để xây dựng lý tưởng cá nhân. Điều này sẽ giúp họ tự tin hơn trong việc học tiếng Anh và đạt được thành công.

Phùng Thị Phương Lan ii LUAN VAN CHAT LUONG download : add [e-mail] ABSTRACT Drawing on the model L2 Motivational Self System by Dörnyei (2005), this study explores the importance of the learner ideal self to the success in studying English of the learners at the Border Guard Academy using survey research methodology. The participants are 100 freshmen in the Border Guard Academy, Sontay, Hanoi, where I am working. Two data collection instruments are employed: questionnaires and individual open-ended interviews. The findings show that the learner ideal self is the key to success in English studying of the learners at the Border Guard Academy. Despite the existence of ideal self in the students’ mind, the number of students with ideal self is still humble, which accounts for the border officers’ inefficiency in solving English using cases. The study puts forward practical suggestions to all the academy, the teachers of English and the students with a view to improving English teaching and learning at the academy. Rationale of the study After more than ten years teaching English, I am still in divided mind as to why, from the same background and in the same learning circumstances, some students have succeeded in acquiring a good knowledge of English while others have failed to achieve even the basic level of it. About 1 year ago, I accidentally heard one of my student’s mother mentioning the significance of motivation in general and her son’s ideal self in particular to his success. I immediately came up with the idea of doing a study of the importance of the Learner Ideal Self to the Success in Learning English of the Learners at The Border Guard Academy. It is unarguable that motivation plays an important role in the learners’success in studying a second or foreign language. Many linguists have spent their invaluable time studying it. For instance, Dornyei (2001) puts an emphasis on the teacher’s role of motivating leaners by proposing “teacher skills in motivating learners should be seen as central to teaching effectiveness”. Spolsky (1989) also considered motivation as one of the key factors to the learners’ success in studying a second language. According to him, “The more motivation a learner has, the more time he or she will spend learning an aspect of a second language” (p. However, the query of how the learner ideal self has effect on English learning of the learners at the Border Guard Academy still need a careful research to work out the answer. Aim of the study The research is done for the purpose of finding out the role of the learner ideal self in the success in learning English of the learners at the Border Guard Academy. Objectives of the study The objectives of the study are as follows: - To examine the kinds of motivation that affect the learners’ success in English learning of the learners at the Border Guard Academy. - To examine the extent of effect of learner ideal self on the success in English learning of the learners at the Border Guard Academy. - To figure out factors building up the ideal self of the learners at the Border Guard Academy, and what should be done to maintain and motivate the ideal self of learners at the Border Guard Academy 4. Research question In order to achieve the aims and objectives mentioned above, I have designed the following research question: - How does learner ideal self affect English studying process of learners at the Border Guard Academy? ? 5. Scope of the study Motivation, undeniably, is a wide research area with various trends and theories related. This study deals with theories of motivation in general, theories of second/foreign language motivation in particular. However, due to the limited time and length constraint of a minor thesis, only one aspect of the new trend of motivation in second/foreign language is profoundly explored – that is learner ideal self, which belongs to the framework the L2 Motivational Self System built up by Dörnyei (2005) and developed so far. The subject of the study is the fresh students only. From the findings of the study, suggestions on how to construct learner ideal self in English learning and teaching at the Border Guard Academy are provided to make improvement in English. The former is used to get data from a great number of participants while the latter is used to gain more profound insight into the study subject. The tasks involved are according to a process. First, data for analysis are collected through questionnaires and interviews, both of which are carried out on the fresh students. Next, data gathered are analyzed, displayed and discussed. Finally, all comments, remarks, recommendations and conclusions are made based on the data analyses of questionnaires and interviews. Significance of the study The study when finished will be an important contribution to English learning and teaching at the Border Guard Academy. So far, neither the teachers nor the students here have paid attention to this temporary trend of second/foreign language motivation. Therefore, it is supposed to benefit both teachers and learners in some ways. First of all, the teachers are provided with the information of motivation in general and learner ideal self in particular. During their process of teaching English, together with equipping their students with necessary knowledge of English, they will exploit the methods to create motivation for students, stimulating them to make improvement in English studying. In addition, the findings of the study will lead the students to have a better understanding of the ideal self of their own. They will study English not only because it is a mandatory subject but because it also opens up a novel horizon to them. With ideal imagination of themselves, they will definitely succeed in learning English. Last but not least, this study not only can be applied to English learning and teaching, but should be taken into consideration for people in all walks of life at this academy as well.
