iii SUMMARY OF MASTER’S THESIS This thesis sought to determine the viability of creating a solid waste collection and categorization business in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In addition, the primary purpose of the thesis was to create a business plan for "Green Collector." In accordance with a conceptual framework, the market research was conducted. This framework contained a business concept, PESTLE analysis, Porter's five factors analysis, analysis of competitors, SWOT analysis, empirical research, and a business plan. The author conceived the "Green Collector" after observing the Deposit Return system in European countries, where he had the opportunity to study.
In addition, qualitative research methodology was selected for the study. To collect data, however, semi-structured interviews were used. The interview sample consisted of an expert from the solid waste treatment company E. In addition, observation was employed as a method of data collecting.
For both online and offline respondents, the survey questions were created in a themes-based fashion. According to the data, the economy of Ho Chi Minh is solid, and both the government and the HCMC committee encourage investments in environmental management. In addition, the SWOT analysis revealed that the "Green Collector" firm offers strengths, such as cutting-edge technology, a distinctive operation model, and further chances. However, the thesis also emphasized obstacles such as high investment, ease of operation, and overwhelming competition.
In addition, the business strategy was created with Business Model Canvas in mind. The business plan said that the required startup capital was 1.1 billion Vietnamese Dong, with the author providing 100 percent of the stock. According to the financial plan, after three years of operation, "Green Collector" will have a positive net present value (NPV). The required start- up money, an estimate of profits and losses, and further appendices were also included with the thesis.
Consequently, the results of the study predict the success of "Green Collector" in Ho Chi Minh City. iv TÓM TẮT LUẬN VĂN THẠC SĨ Luận văn này nhằm xác định tính thực tiễn và khả thi của việc hình thành một cơ sở kinh doanh thu gom và phân loại chất thải rắn tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Việt Nam. Ngoài ra, mục đích chính của luận văn là lập một kế hoạch kinh doanh chi tiết cho dự án khởi nghiệp "Green Collector." Các chương của luận văn bao gồm khái niệm kinh doanh, phân tích PESTLE, phân tích năm yếu tố của Porter, phân tích đối thủ cạnh tranh, phân tích SWOT, nghiên cứu thực nghiệm và kế hoạch kinh doanh. Tác giả đã hình thành những ý tưởng về “Hệ điều hành Xanh” sau khi quan sát hệ thống Hoàn trả tiền gửi ở các nước Châu Âu, nơi tác giả đã có cơ hội học tập.
Ngoài ra, phương pháp nghiên cứu định tính đã được lựa chọn cho nghiên cứu. Tuy nhiên, để thu thập dữ liệu, phương pháp phỏng vấn chuyên gia đã được áp dụng. Các câu hỏi phỏng vấn được trả lời bởi một chuyên gia từ công ty xử lý chất thải rắn E. Ngoài ra, quan sát thực tiễn cũng như dữ liệu trên mạng cũng được sử dụng như một phương pháp thu thập dữ liệu.
Đối với khảo sát trực tuyến, các câu hỏi khảo sát được tạo ra dựa trên những nhu cầu về thông tin đầu vào cũng như tìm hiểu các thị hiếu của người tiêu dùng tiềm năng. Theo số liệu, nền kinh tế của Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh đang phát triển vững chắc, và cả chính phủ và ủy ban Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh đều khuyến khích đầu tư vào quản lý môi trường. Ngoài ra, phân tích SWOT phần nào củng cố rằng công ty "Green Collector" cung cấp các thế mạnh, chẳng hạn như công nghệ tiên tiến, mô hình hoạt động đặc biệt và nhiều cơ hội hơn nữa. Tuy nhiên, luận văn cũng nhấn mạnh những trở ngại như đầu tư cao, cách thức vận hành và sự cạnh tranh từ các đối thủ.
Ngoài ra, chiến lược kinh doanh được tạo ra với mô hình kinh doanh Canvas. Kế hoạch kinh doanh cho biết, vốn khởi nghiệp cần thiết là 1,1 tỷ đồng Việt Nam, với số vốn đầu tư từ những nhà sáng lập. Theo kế hoạch tài chính, sau ba năm hoạt động, “Green Collector” sẽ có giá trị hiện tại ròng dương (NPV). Số tiền đầu tư ban đầu, bảng dự tính doanh thu, báo cáo dòng tiền mặt và các phụ lục khác cũng được liệt kê chi tiết trong luận văn.
