The goal of this book is to familiarize students with the format of the test as well as grammar points and vocabulary commonly found on the test. Very Easy TOEIC® Third Edition now includes the new question formats that were added to the test in 2016.
Book 1 contains twelve units, one practice test, and support with transcripts. Book 2 contains ten units, one practice test, and support with transcripts. Each unit in this book contains a vocabulary section, a clear and concise grammar focus section, grammar exercises, and a Mini Test. Book 1 is meant to give test-takers a general idea of the test, with random topics presented in the mini tests.
The focus in this book is on getting test-takers ready for the format of the test. However, in Book 2, the most common ten themes are tested to help students narrow in on key vocabulary they will encounter during the test, particularly the listening section. Students must now consider themed vocabulary while also keeping in mind the format of the TOEIC® test. Listening: Students will learn and listen to the most commonly used words in both conversations and single-speaker situations.
Reading: This section includes exercises that emphasize commonly mistaken homonyms, !t also includes intermediate-level vocabulary to push students’ reading abilities. Grammar Focus and Exercises. This section outlines fundamental grammar points frequently tested on the TOEIC®. Each unit begins with a brief explanation of the target grammar, including key points or hints that will help students when dealing with the grammar points.
The units also provide exercises based on the format of TOEIC® grammar questions, allowing students to practice their understanding of the grammar point in a natural, TOEIC®-style setting. Mini Test This section provides students with a mini test that incorporates the same types of questions found on the latest format of the TOEIC® test. With this, students can not only review the grammar learned in the Grammar Focus and Exercises section, but also become familiar with the kind of tasks they will encounter on the TOEIC®. Practice Test The Practice Test provides students with an opportunity to take a full-length, lower-level version of the TOEIC® test.
It introduces students to the new TOEIC® format, with students having to answer 100 listening questions and 100 reading questions. Very Easy TOEIC® Third Edition includes transcripts for all listening tasks in each unit and in the practice test, and a blank sample answer sheet for use when taking the full-length practice test.
