This dissertation combs the process of translations, researches of these novels from China, trying to probe into the life form of these works in another language environment, and attempting to understand them from “his” aspect, so as to make contribution to bilateral communication of culture and literature. Based on general impression of the spreading of the novels of The New Era of China, this dissertation tends to offer Vietnamese readers deeper acquaintance of the translation, researches of Novels in the New Era of China, due to which, this dissertation is divided into seven chapters: The first chapter sketches out the exchanges and spreading background of Chinese literature in Vietnam, also depicting the translations and spreading of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature in Vietnam.
The current situations of translations and researches along with the direction of acceptance of Novels in the New Era of China are expounded in the second chapter, In Vietnam, Moyan, Yuhua and Liuzhenyun are the three most popular Chinese writers in the New Era. Therefore, the translations and researches about works of Moyan, Yuhua, Liuzhenyun shall be taken for instance in the third, fourth and fifth chapters to explicate on the themes of national feelings, global vision, sufferings and destiny, together with reality criticism and criticizing reality, and to discover the sympathetic resonance among Vietnamese. Various factors of the translations and acceptance of Novels in the New Era of China shall be expatiated in sixth chapter, besides which, the unstable state of mind Il ABSTRACT _E*#Jj#K*#l-LE*3⁄“f tê among the Vietnamese readers and scholars and the understanding towards “Chinese image” will also have an investigation. The seventh chapter shall theoretically and realistically detect the factors of the Vietnamese translators’ choices and translations of Novels in the New Era of China, and investigate reasons of acceptance and understanding of Vietnamese readers.
Differences in concerns and preferences between modern Chinese and Vietnamese readers are presented in expatiation and analysis of Novels in the New Era of China, accounting for which closely relevant to the aesthetic demand of Vietnamese readers. Comparative study about both literatures shall be helpful to the prediction and preview of the development of Vietnamese literature. A new literary motivation has been given by the Novels in the New Era of China, which also sets a new road sign for the renovation of Vietnam literature. In some sense, Novels in the New Era of China has become both a sort of introspection of Vientam literature and indispensable alien element, which therefore, has played an important role in the development of Vietnam literature.
In conclusion, Novels in the New Era of China has had deep influence on not only the wide readership but also the Vietnam researchers and writers, who jointly push a strong development of the Vietnam literature.
