I. Tổng quan về việc tăng cường từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện

Việc tăng cường từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện cho sinh viên tại trường Cao đẳng Công nghệ và Kinh tế Hà Nội là một nhiệm vụ quan trọng. Trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa, tiếng Anh trở thành ngôn ngữ chính trong nhiều lĩnh vực, đặc biệt là trong ngành điện. Sinh viên cần nắm vững từ vựng chuyên ngành để có thể giao tiếp hiệu quả và áp dụng kiến thức vào thực tiễn.

1.1. Tại sao từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện quan trọng

Từ vựng là nền tảng của ngôn ngữ. Theo Zimmerman (1997), từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện không chỉ giúp sinh viên hiểu bài học mà còn hỗ trợ trong việc giao tiếp và làm việc trong môi trường quốc tế.

1.2. Thực trạng việc học từ vựng tiếng Anh tại trường

Nhiều sinh viên gặp khó khăn trong việc ghi nhớ và sử dụng từ vựng. Thời gian học hạn chế và phương pháp học truyền thống không còn hiệu quả. Cần có những giải pháp mới để cải thiện tình hình này.

II. Những thách thức trong việc học từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện

Sinh viên thường gặp phải nhiều thách thức khi học từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện. Những khó khăn này có thể ảnh hưởng đến khả năng tiếp thu và ứng dụng kiến thức trong thực tế.

2.1. Khó khăn trong việc ghi nhớ từ vựng

Nhiều sinh viên không thể ghi nhớ từ vựng lâu dài. Họ thường chỉ nhớ tạm thời và không thể áp dụng trong thực tế. Cần có phương pháp học hiệu quả hơn để khắc phục vấn đề này.

2.2. Thiếu kỹ năng giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh

Kỹ năng giao tiếp là rất quan trọng trong ngành điện. Tuy nhiên, sinh viên thường thiếu tự tin khi sử dụng tiếng Anh trong giao tiếp. Điều này cần được cải thiện thông qua các hoạt động thực hành.

III. Phương pháp hiệu quả để tăng cường từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện

Để nâng cao từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện, cần áp dụng những phương pháp học tập sáng tạo và hiệu quả. Các phương pháp này không chỉ giúp sinh viên ghi nhớ từ vựng mà còn tạo động lực học tập.

3.1. Sử dụng hình ảnh và ngữ cảnh

Hình ảnh và ngữ cảnh giúp sinh viên dễ dàng ghi nhớ từ vựng. Việc liên kết từ vựng với hình ảnh cụ thể sẽ tạo ra ấn tượng mạnh mẽ hơn trong tâm trí người học.

3.2. Thực hành giao tiếp thường xuyên

Thực hành giao tiếp là cách tốt nhất để củng cố từ vựng. Sinh viên nên tham gia vào các buổi thảo luận, hội thảo để nâng cao kỹ năng giao tiếp và sử dụng từ vựng một cách tự nhiên.

IV. Ứng dụng thực tiễn của từ vựng tiếng Anh trong ngành điện

Việc áp dụng từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện vào thực tiễn là rất quan trọng. Sinh viên cần biết cách sử dụng từ vựng trong các tình huống thực tế để nâng cao khả năng làm việc của mình.

4.1. Giao tiếp trong môi trường làm việc

Khi làm việc trong ngành điện, sinh viên sẽ phải giao tiếp với đồng nghiệp và khách hàng bằng tiếng Anh. Việc nắm vững từ vựng sẽ giúp họ tự tin hơn trong giao tiếp.

4.2. Tham gia các dự án quốc tế

Nhiều dự án trong ngành điện yêu cầu sự tham gia của các chuyên gia quốc tế. Việc sử dụng từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện sẽ giúp sinh viên dễ dàng hòa nhập và đóng góp vào các dự án này.

V. Kết luận và triển vọng tương lai trong việc học từ vựng tiếng Anh

Việc tăng cường từ vựng tiếng Anh chuyên ngành điện cho sinh viên là một nhiệm vụ cần thiết và cấp bách. Cần có những phương pháp học tập hiệu quả để giúp sinh viên vượt qua các thách thức trong việc học từ vựng.

5.1. Tương lai của việc học từ vựng tiếng Anh

Với sự phát triển của công nghệ, việc học từ vựng sẽ ngày càng trở nên dễ dàng hơn. Các ứng dụng học tập và tài liệu trực tuyến sẽ hỗ trợ sinh viên trong việc nâng cao từ vựng.

5.2. Đề xuất cho nghiên cứu tiếp theo

Cần có thêm nhiều nghiên cứu về các phương pháp học từ vựng hiệu quả hơn. Các nghiên cứu này sẽ giúp cải thiện chất lượng giảng dạy và học tập tại trường.

The techniques applied include creativity, which means using pictures, context clues and guessing meaning of words in context.

The study aims at, first, finding the vocabulary learning problems that learners are encountering; second, assessing the changes in positive direction of students‟ vocabulary acquisition with the enhancing English Electrical vocabulary plan; and finally, gathering students‟ attitudes towards the enhancing English Electrical vocabulary plan. In order to accomplish the study, the instruments of data collection varied from small talk, pre-test, post-test to a questionnaire. The results of small talk and pretest discovered two problems students were facing with learning vocabulary namely dictionary application and lack of techniques. The results from the pre-test and post-test helped to demonstrate that the techniques were effective and students vocabulary was improved as indicated in the post-test score.

Finally, the data received from questionnaire show the students‟ positive attitude towards the enhancing English Electrical vocabulary plan. Rationale of the study Nowadays, more and more people speak English as their foreign language all over the world. With its important role in the daily life, English is widely learnt and used in a variety of areas for many purposes such as: education, economics, technology, marine, telecommunication etc.

Therefore, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) has received a great of attention. In Vietnam, ESP courses have been taught and have become one of the required subjects at most colleges and universities around the country in the last few years. As a matter of fact, ESP materials connect students‟ learning and English language teaching. Such a connection is highly encouraging to learn and study because students are capable of applying their knowledge gained from English classes to their main field of study in their future.

In addition, a noticeable distinction between ESP and English for General Purposes (EGP), is vocabulary that is particularly preferred. As Zimmerman (1997 as cited in Eyraud, el al, 200, p2) states “Vocabulary is central to language and of critical importance to the typical language learner” and Jahangard (2007, p8) gave more clearly description that vocabulary, particularly specialist vocabulary (or terminology), is a key element of ESP. At Hanoi College of Technology and Economics, in ESP materials, not only vocabulary is mainly focused but also reading, grammatical structures are goaled on each lesson. However, ESP vocabulary teaching and learning is not an easy work which has always been a big matter for both teachers and students.

In fact, the limited time is spent to teach an ESP material is 45 periods at the beginning of the first semester of the second school year. Most students commented that they found a number of new words given in one lesson. Time is too short but words are too 1 LUAN VAN CHAT LUONG download : add luanvanchat@agmail. They could not put them in their mind.

Sometimes, they memorized a lot of words in the short-term, but could not in the long term. Based on the above reasons, it is necessary to find out effective methods in order to enhance ESP vocabulary (English electrical vocabulary) for students of electrical department at Hanoi College of Technology and Economics in long-term memory. Aims of the study The aim of the study is three-folded: First, the study attempted to point out the problems in learning English Electrical vocabulary that students of electrical department at Hanoi College of Technology and Economics are facing with. Second, it was designed to enrich students‟ ESP vocabulary by enhancing English Electrical Vocabulary plan (EEV plan).

Finally, it aimed at gathering not only students‟ attitudes toward the enhancing EEV plan, students‟ preference to vocabulary practicing activities but also students‟ expectations for one better future enhancing EEV plan. Significance of the study During the treatment, the researcher was filled with the aspiration to provide a new method in English vocabulary, helped them temporary forget the traditional learning style such as listing words or learning words by heart. Moreover, it solves the problem up lighting the quality of teaching English electrical vocabulary. The results of the study can also be considered a good reference for researchers or teachers to continue their future work.

Method of the study In order to achieve for teaching electrical vocabulary mentioned above, an action research is chosen for the study. In my action research, a small talk, pre-test, post-test, questionnaire are provided and handled as data collection instruments. The pre-test was provided to gain the overview about students‟ Electrical vocabulary level before my research.

The post- test was given to students after 45 periods (or twelve weeks) in which three techniques of enhancing electrical vocabulary were applied to help students enrich their ESP words. All scores from two kinds of tests were collected, compared and analyzed to see the students‟ improvement in learning English Electrical Vocabulary. Moreover, a small talk was conducted to have more in- depth data to support for analysis methodology of action research. Finally, a questionnaire was completed by 17 students with aimed of exploiting students‟ attitudes to the enhancing English Electrical Vocabulary plan.

Scope of the study It is inappropriate to envelop all faces of language theory and practice in my research. Therefore, my research concentrates on enhancing English electrical vocabulary for students of electrical department at Hanoi College of Technology and Economics. Design of the study The study is divided into three parts: Part A, Part B, Part C.
