The study uses the MSCI ESG Ratings Methodology to evaluate the relationship between labor management sustainability and its effect on business performance in Vietnam.
Two methodologies will be used in the study: regression analysis and scoring techniques. First, the MSCI ESG Ratings Methodology will be used to assign scores to the financial reports, annual reports, and information from the websites of the 100 businesses listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange between 2018 and 2022. Second, utilizing a qualitative approach with Stata, the association between labor management major problem scores and business success will be examined. As a result, the study divided the businesses into four categories according to MGMTi and KIi (businesses, whose MGMTi and KIi increased; companies in the group with MGMTi and KIi both decreasing; businesses with decreased MGMTi and increased KIi; companies in the MGMTi group increased and KIi decreased).
Furthermore, there is a slight influence of the Labor Management Key Issue Score on corporate performance. The study's conclusions will be used as an example to encourage businesses to embrace global labor management standards and publicly release pertinent labor management data. Key words: Labor management, Sustainability, Corporate performance, Vietnam. 2 Acknowledgment: We would first and foremost like to sincerely thank MSc.

Table 2: Classification of 100 companies in Vietnam according to 𝑀𝐺𝑀𝑇𝑖 and 31 𝐾𝐼𝑖. The background of study The global business context is undergoing a shift in its model, where sustainability has emerged as a determining factor for the success of organizations. Companies around the world are increasingly recognizing the importance of integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into their operations to ensure long-term viability and social value (Ting-Ting Li, Kai Wang, Toshiyuki Sueyoshi, and Derek D.
Within the broader scope of ESG, a focus on sustainability in labor management has become prominent as organizations grapple with the dual challenge of promoting a positive work environment while aligning with the expectations of a developing global society (KPMG, no date). This study delves into the assessment of sustainability in labor management using the MSCI ESG Ratings Methodology and its impact on business performance in the context of Vietnam. The ideas of sustainability and sustainable development have drawn more attention from the domains of business, management, and, more recently, labor management (WCED, 1987). Labor management sustainability describes how actions and plans affect the environment, society, and natural resources, and how this will affect how human resource development and the business environment in an organization will proceed in the future (Ehnert, Ina, & Harry, Wes, 2012).
By facilitating the growth of enduring relationships with employees, LMS initiatives seek to enhance organizational performance. Accordingly, organizations that practice sustainable labor management show a human development-based organizational growth path (Lestari et al., 2021; Indiparambil et al. Employee engagement, dedication, and satisfaction are indicators of a sustainable labor management organizational approach (Chen & Chen, 2022; Parakandi & Behery, 2015). It is pointed out that LMS practices in an organization also affect employee satisfaction by drawing and keeping talent, fostering employee skill development, and upholding a fit and productive workforce (Macke & Genari, 2019; Ehnert, 2006).
LMS also intervenes to address concerns of involvement with environmental and social implications in addition to economic performance. Strategic labor management bases its approach on the economic performance of employees and emphasizes the monitoring of human capital 10 through accessible HR practices. The main goal of LMS is to create a creative work environment that fosters both internal and external social engagement as well as increased environmental responsibility and awareness. These actions translate into fostering organizational performance in a competitive setting (Giang & Dung, 2022; Podgorodnichenko et al., 2020; Chamsa & García-Blandónb, 2019, p.
111; Indiparambil et al. In 2020, Vietnam's human resource foundation will continue to expand. One necessary and constructive change in the course of economic growth is the utilization of a team of highly qualified workers instead of relying solely on a group of manual workers. On the whole, the majority of the employees at Vietnamese businesses in the study are youthful and energetic.
Numerous benefits result from this, including being creative, adaptable, energetic, and able to spend a lot of time working in a new setting. Nevertheless, when there is an excessive number of young workers, Vietnamese enterprises are particularly vulnerable because their lack of experience makes it difficult for them to adapt to new chances and positions. The human resources department also faces a significant difficulty in sustaining and growing a robust human resources team for the organization (Rewel Jiminez Santural Jose et al. Additionally, the Vietnamese economy is greatly impacted by the ineffective utilization of human resources at the moment because there is still a tiny pool of skilled labor and poor training quality.
Consequently, modern people management practices, particularly those from the West, are being adopted and applied by an increasing number of enterprises (King-Kauanui et al., 2006; Truong and van der Heijden, 2009). Vietnam's economy is in a state of transition as it moves from a variety of economic activities, such as domestic corporate operations, to more contemporary international norms. Businesses need to become more competitive and adhere to global labor laws. Nonetheless, this field continues to face numerous significant restrictions (Nguyen Phuong Lan, 2023).
The purpose of this research is to measure the relationship between LMS and company performance, which will help Vietnamese firms and global corporations better grasp the current state of affairs. businesses for 100 Vietnamese 11 companies ranked by the MSCI ESG Rating Methodology. The study will then offer recommendations for sustainable development. This thesis aims to assess the sustainability of enterprises and corporations in Vietnam through the use of MSCI ESG Rating Methodology as an evaluation framework to analyze the impact of sustainable labor management on the overall performance of Vietnamese companies.
At the same time, through in-depth research and analysis, the thesis hopes to provide valuable insights and propose useful solutions to improve the sustainability of labor management in Vietnamese enterprises. This will contribute to promoting the sustainable and efficient development of businesses in the context of the economy being affected by many challenges and fluctuations (Anh Minh, 2019). The thesis uses two methods, scoring techniques and quantitative analysis. First, scoring techniques are used to evaluate the disclosure of information related to the sustainability of labor management in companies, allowing quantitative data to be used for further analysis.
The second is quantitative analysis, which is used to investigate the dual relationship between the disclosure of information on the sustainability of labor management and the business performance of companies. The results of the paper demonstrate that by applying the MSCI ESG Ratings Methodology, sustainability in labor management has a positive relationship with corporate performance but its impact is relatively small on corporate performance. This shows that the performance of the business will increase but not much if the labor management key issue score is higher. Structure of study This study is organized into five chapters to provide a systematic exploration of the topic.
• Chapter 1: The introduction provides the research context, research objectives, research methodology, research findings, and the structure of the study. 12 • Chapter 2: Offers a comprehensive review of relevant literature on sustainability in labor management and its impact on business performance.
