I. Cách phân tích diễn ngôn phê phán bài phát biểu Finest Hour hiệu quả

Phân tích diễn ngôn phê phán bài phát biểu Finest Hour đòi hỏi sự kết hợp giữa lý thuyết ngôn ngữ học và bối cảnh lịch sử chính trị. Bài phát biểu được Winston Churchill trình bày vào ngày 18 tháng 6 năm 1940, giữa thời điểm nước Anh đối mặt với nguy cơ xâm lược từ Đức Quốc xã. Mục tiêu của phân tích diễn ngôn phê phán (CDA) là làm rõ cách Churchill sử dụng ngôn ngữ chính trị để định hình tư tưởng, khơi dậy tinh thần dân tộc và củng cố quyền lực lãnh đạo. Nghiên cứu của Nguyễn Thị Phương Mai (2019) tại Đại học Ngoại ngữ – ĐHQG Hà Nội đã áp dụng khung phân tích ba giai đoạn của Norman Fairclough: mô tả, diễn giải và giải thích. Qua đó, người đọc hiểu được cách diễn ngôn và hệ tư tưởng tương tác để tạo ra ảnh hưởng xã hội sâu rộng. Phân tích diễn ngôn phê phán (Critical Discourse Analysis – CDA) là tiếp cận liên ngành nhằm khám phá mối liên hệ giữa ngôn ngữ, quyền lực và hệ tư tưởng. CDA cho rằng ngôn ngữ không chỉ phản ánh thực tại mà còn kiến tạo thực tại xã hội. Trong bối cảnh chính trị, CDA giúp phát hiện cách các nhà lãnh đạo sử dụng ngôn từ để củng cố vị thế và định hướng dư luận.

1.2. Bối cảnh lịch sử của bài phát biểu Finest Hour

2.1. Giới hạn của phương pháp CDA trong phân tích lịch sử

CDA chủ yếu dựa vào văn bản viết, bỏ qua các yếu tố phi ngôn ngữ như ngữ điệu, biểu cảm – vốn rất quan trọng trong diễn ngôn lãnh đạo chính trị. Điều này làm giảm độ chính xác khi tái hiện hiệu ứng thực tế của bài phát biểu đối với thính giả thời kỳ đó.
