Mỗi loại có chỉ định riêng, phụ thuộc vào mức độ phức tạp và giai đoạn phát triển của bệnh nhân. Việc phân loại giúp bác sĩ lựa chọn phương pháp điều trị phù hợp nhất cho từng trường hợp.

2.2. Vai trò của hệ thống mô trong chỉnh nha

Sách nhấn mạnh rằng bác sĩ phải hiểu biết sâu sắc về hệ thống mô trước khi điều trị. Hệ thống mô bao gồm bốn thành phần: xương, cơ, thần kinh và răng. Hai phần ba các trường hợp sai khớp cắn liên quan đến bất thường xương nền. Hệ thống cơ và thần kinh đóng vai trò động trong sự phát triển hàm mặt. Chỉ kỹ thuật viên phòng lab làm việc trực tiếp với hệ thống răng. Bác sĩ cần nhận thức rằng điều trị chỉnh nha tác động đến tất cả các hệ thống mô, không chỉ riêng răng.

III. Phương pháp tăng trưởng và tái tạo xương hàm mặt

Cuốn sách trình bày chi tiết về quá trình tăng trưởng và tái tạo xương hàm mặt. Tăng trưởng và tái tạo là hai phần không thể tách rời của cùng một quá trình sinh học. Sự lắng đọng và hấp thu xương đồng thời thực hiện enlargement tổng thể và tái định vị các bộ phận cấu thành. Quá trình tái tạo được điều phối bởi các trường tăng trưởng mềm. Ví dụ cụ thể là sự kéo dài thân xương hàm dưới, khi corpus được định vị lại vào vùng trước đây thuộc về ramus. Tái tạo hình dạng xảy ra liên tục, chuyển đổi phần ramus cũ thành phần mới của corpus. Đường cong Scammon mô tả sự tăng trưởng khác nhau của bốn hệ thống mô. Mô thần kinh hoàn thành tăng trưởng sớm ở tuổi 6-7. Mô cơ thể nói chung theo đường cong S với giai đoạn tăng tốc ở tuổi dậy thì.

3.1. Cơ chế tái tạo xương hàm

Tái tạo xương liên quan đến việc thay đổi kích thước và hình dạng liên tục của xương. Hình dạng cơ bản của xương được duy trì trong khi các thành phần liên tục được định vị lại. Quá trình này cho phép mỗi xương tăng kích thước dần dần. Các phần cấu thành được sắp xếp lại theo thứ tự để phù hợp với sự tăng trưởng. Tái tạo diễn ra ở cả bề mặt bên trong và bên ngoài của xương. Sự cân bằng giữa lắng đọng và hấp thu xương quyết định hình dạng cuối cùng. Đây là nguyên lý cơ bản trong điều trị chỉnh nha hiện đại.

3.2. Đường cong Scammon và ý nghĩa lâm sàng

Đường cong Scammon mô tả bốn hệ thống tăng trưởng mô khác nhau trong cơ thể. Mô thần kinh tăng trưởng nhanh và hoàn thành sớm nhất, đạt mức trưởng thành ở tuổi 6-7. Mô cơ thể nói chung theo hình chữ S, chậm trong thời thơ ấu và tăng tốc ở tuổi dậy thì. Mô lympho tăng trưởng vượt mức trưởng thành trong thời thơ ấu và thoái lui ở tuổi dậy thì. Mô sinh dục bắt đầu phát triển ở tuổi dậy thì và đạt đỉnh khoảng 20 tuổi. Hiểu biết về các đường cong này giúp bác sĩ chỉnh nha lựa chọn thời điểm điều trị tối ưu.

IV. Kết luận và ứng dụng thực hành từ giáo trình
