1.2. Tầm quan trọng của thiết kế mạng điện dân dụng

Thiết kế mạng điện dân dụng 2 tầng đóng vai trò then chốt trong việc đảm bảo an toàn điện, tiết kiệm năng lượng và nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống.

Project Rationale In practice, for the operation of relatively large residential buildings such as two- story houses, the electrical system plays a crucial role in supplying power to all loads, including lighting, air-conditioning, water pumps, and utility services. However, potential risks such as overvoltage, undervoltage, short circuits, lightning strikes, and leakage currents may lead to fire and explosion hazards, disrupt equipment operation, or even endanger human life if not properly protected. Therefore, designing an optimized electrical system for the two-story house is essential, incorporating protective solutions against overvoltage, short circuits, lightning, and grounding failures. This approach not only ensures safety for both equipment and occupants but also enhances the reliability and operational efficiency of the electrical system.

Based on the studied knowledge, this project aims to design an optimized electrical system for the building, proposing appropriate and cost-effective protection measures under practical conditions. Project Objectives Design the electrical system for a two-story residential house, from the power supply to the main loads, ensuring safety and compliance with technical standards, including overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, short-circuit protection, lightning protection, and grounding system. Provide knowledge on calculation methods for selecting protective devices. Enhance understanding of electrical safety and the potential hazards of electrical energy.

Scope of Study The project focuses on designing the electrical system for a two-story residential building, with the main loads including lighting, socket outlets, air conditioning, water pumps, and other service equipment. The scope of study covers electrical safety measures such as overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, short-circuit protection, direct and indirect lightning protection, as well as the design of a reliable grounding system. SVTH: Nguyễn Hoàng Son –8– Đồ Án Điện Công Nghiệp The design scope is limited to the development of the electrical single-line diagram using QElectroTech software, along with spatial modeling and load arrangement carried out with Sweet Home 3D. The calculation and selection of protective devices are conducted at a preliminary level, appropriate for each floor and each type of load.

The project does not cover the medium-voltage system (22 kV), medium-voltage transformers, or advanced automation solutions such as SCADA and BMS. In addition, it does not include detailed construction drawings, installation, or on-site testing. The calculations are intended for reference purposes only, serving educational and simulation objectives. SVTH: Nguyễn Hoàng Son – 10 – Đồ Án Điện Công Nghiệp CHAPTER 2: THEORETICAL BASIS FOR DESIGNING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF A TWO-STORY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING 2. Overview of Residential Electrical Systems Residential electricity refers to the electrical system that serves the daily needs of households, supplying low-power devices such as lighting, fans, air conditioners, washing machines, and so on. Unlike industrial electricity, residential electricity operates on a smaller scale, with lower power requirements and simpler equipment. In addition to its role in energy supply, residential electricity is also a professional field, encompassing the production, installation, and maintenance of household electrical devices.

Therefore, understanding and properly designing residential electrical systems not only ensures safety and convenience but also plays an important role in developing the electrical infrastructure of residential buildings. Analysis of Electrical Load Characteristics in a Two-Story Residential House [1] An electrical load is any device that consumes electricity. This includes all electrical appliances such as televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and so on. These devices use electrical energy to convert it into other forms of energy to perform their intended functions.

For example, an electric kettle uses electrical energy to generate heat (thermal energy) to warm water, while a light bulb converts electrical energy into light (luminous energy) for illumination purposes. When constructing a two-story house, completion is not limited to the architectural aspects but also requires the integration of technical systems, particularly the power supply system, to ensure all daily utilities are available. In residential electrical design, loads are classified into several groups as follows: - Resistive Load: This type of load has purely resistive characteristics, meaning the current and voltage are in phase. Common household devices using this type of load include incandescent lamps, electric stoves SVTH: Nguyễn Hoàng Son – 11 – Đồ Án Điện Công Nghiệp (infrared or coil stoves), electric kettles, electric irons, hair dryers, electric heaters, and clothes dryers.

Devices in the Resistive Load Branch Device Typical Power Characteristics Electric Water Heater 1500–3000 W Uses resistive heating to boil water Electric Stove / Infrared 1500–2200 W High-power heating coil Cooker Oven / Microwave Oven 1000–2000 W Generates heat for fast cooking Electric Iron 1000–2000 W Heats up the iron plate High-Power Hair Dryer 1000–1500 W Heat with fan assistance - Capacitive Loads: Although purely capacitive loads exist in theory, in practice residential capacitive loads are rarely purely capacitive and often appear combined with resistive and inductive components, especially in electronic devices. Examples include LED lamps, fluorescent lamps with electronic ballasts, phone/laptop chargers, switch-mode power supplies, and television receivers. Devices in the Capacitive Load Branch Device Typical Power Characteristics TV (LCD, LED, OLED) 60–300 W Includes filter capacitor → capacitive load Desktop Computer 200–800 W Switch-mode power supply, non-linear load Microwave Oven with 1000–1500 W High-power circuit Inverter Electric Motorcycle/Bike 500–1000 W Filter capacitor, high inrush Charger current - Inductive Loads: These loads exhibit inductive characteristics, with current lagging the voltage. This type is common in devices with motors or coils, such as electric fans, washing machines, air conditioners, water pumps, vacuum cleaners, printers, blenders, and speakers.
